Sr Digital Asset Librarian, Merck (NJ)

Sr. Digital Asset Librarian/Operations, Merck, Cokesbury – NJ

The Sr. Digital Asset Librarian/Operations will provide day-to-day support for Merck’s global digital asset management (DAM) system and its global promotion/marketing portal (Toolbox).

The successful candidate will be a technical subject matter expert for the DAM and Toolbox. Key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing system configurations and integrations with downstream or parallel systems
  • Maintaining lists of values and metadata models, ensuring alignment with related systems
  • Troubleshooting issues and coordinating support requests
  • Providing support and training to internal and external users/teams
  • Assist in growing and developing the DAM and its capabilities worldwide
  • Reporting on usage, workflow and productivity
  • An understanding of Merck’s promotion end-to-end development process and the ability to create standard operating procedures and maintain file specifications for Merck’s promotion assets will also be required
  • Additionally, the Sr. Digital Asset Librarian/Operations will provide image usage rights oversight and support for a subset of Merck’s brands.
    Qualifications
Education Requirement:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position.
Required:
At least one of the following is required:
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience administering/managing an enterprise digital asset management system (or its equivalent)
  • OR a minimum of 1 year of working as the sole/lead librarian for a digital asset management system (or its equivalent)
    Preferred:
  • Professional Certification in Library Information Sciences, MLIS, or equivalent work experience preferred
  • High degree of technical literacy and comfort working in both Macintosh and Windows environment
  • Experience managing image usage rights/permissions; familiarity with copyright law
  • Familiarity with data management standards, technologies and protocols (XML, XMP, IPTC, etc.)
    Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and print/digital file formats
  • Experience implementing new capabilities/releases, user acceptance testing, etc. a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skill
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences
  • Self-directed and highly organized, capable of focusing on multiple priorities within a fast-paced environment
