Christie’s is seeking a Copyright Researcher for its Post-War and Contemporary Art department. This position is located in New York, NY.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Duties include but are not limited to the following):

• Recognize all levels of copyright required for clearance
• Requesting copyright permission for all necessary uses
• Tracking all requests and following up with rights holders
• Researching contact information for rights holders
• Ordering high-res images from image libraries
• Writing of image captions and ensuring usage of all relevant taglines

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic knowledge of copyright useful but not required
• Familiarity with Post-War and Contemporary Art
• Well-structured and detail-oriented
• Good communication skills
• Discretion with sensitive and confidential information
• Proficiency in Excel
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to work well with others and maintain key relationships
• Ability to self-start and efficiently complete tasks, with clear and regular follow up
• Ability to work under pressure and against deadlines
• Ability to work weekends and late nights during peak deadlines
