(Temp F/T) - Prospect Research, Planned Parenthood (NY)



The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is hiring a full time (35 hours per week) temporary Prospect Research position at our headquarters in New York City.


Primary Function/Position Summary:
The Prospect Research Temp is responsible for carrying out assignments integral to the work and activities of the Prospect Research team. Under supervision of the Director, Research and Prospect Management, the temp will assist the on projects related to prospect research, prospect identification and prospect management.
  
Duties and Responsibilities:
·        Conduct prospect research on major gift prospects.
·        Proactively identify new major giving prospects.
·        Assisting in the maintenance of the donor files, both hard copy and electronic.
·        Compiling and preparing raw data for use in donor/prospect profiles.
·        List review to identify new prospects.
·        Preparation for a new database implementation.
·        Helping with creation of prospect portfolios.
·        Reviewing paper and electronic periodicals.
·        Specialized database research.
·        Help identify new prospects and learn more about current donors and prospects via sophisticated research methods.
·        Data mining.
·        Administrative responsibilities such as filing, copying, faxing, and data entry.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2 years experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, research or library science.
Skills or Related Knowledge:
·        Strong analytical and writing skills.
·        Exceptional attention to details.
·        Excellent problem solving skills, initiative and resourcefulness.
·        Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
·        Strong skills with Microsoft Office, relational databases (Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud CRM, Team Approach).
·        Research experience in print reference materials; advance internet search; and subscription databases.
·        Excellent communication and organizational skills.
·        Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
·        Natural curiosity and ability to process large amounts of information into a clear and concise format.
