Description of Intelligence Center Research Library
The
Ogilvy Intelligence Center Research Library is a cutting edge,
inspirational environment - a service that brings the outside, in. The
Library
is both a digital and physical space, designed to stimulate and inspire
the best strategic thinking. It is an open and accessible,
collaborative, learning space.
The
Library provides Ogilvy & Mather staff with essential research and
reading. There are designated workstations that allow access to
proprietary and syndicated resources.
Carefully curated books, journals, newspapers, and magazines ensure
that staff keeps up-to-date on the latest and most important news and
knowledge. The library space is designed to optimize on-site reading and
browsing, but many of the print resources can
be routed or borrowed by Ogilvy & Mather staff.
Internship Summary
The Intern will support the Ogilvy Intelligence Center and Research Library with cataloging and administrative duties. The position
calls for a meticulous but creative problem-solver, who is
organized but flexible to handle fast deadlines and last minute
requests. This internship would be ideal for a candidate with background
and/or interest in marketing, advertising, and consumer
psychology.
The pay for this internship is
$15/hr. with 28 minimum hours per week.
Responsibilities
The Research Library intern will be expected to assist in:
- Routing publications.
- Cataloging books, journals, magazines, and other resources in EOS.
- Organizing and retrieving publications from library storage.
- Posting content to Intranet.
- Cleaning up data in the integrated library system, EOS.
- Management of internal digital assets.
- Other administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Currently in an MLIS program or near completion.
- Must be highly proficient in computer skills – especially database management and cloud computing.
- Knowledgeable about advertising and marketing.
- Familiar with library cataloging rules – work experience in library cataloging or taxonomy a plus.
- Experience in administrating websites or OPACs, esp. EOS, is a huge plus.
- Adept at database and online research.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
