SharePoint Architect, ReqRoute – NY
ReqRoute Inc. is seeking a SharePoint Architect for a client in New York City. This is a direct hire, permanent position for a person with SP 2013 experience.
The SharePoint Architect/Consultant is responsible for using significant and thorough knowledge of SharePoint 2013 capabilities to develop the new company Intranet. The architect will lead the development team and guide the SharePoint Admin and DBA teams to ensure the Intranet meets the business requirements and the solution is in line with accepted SharePoint best practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Define the physical architecture and the logical architecture of the SharePoint environment.
• Perform capacity planning and ensure the environment is scalable.
• Define the service applications architecture and ensure that there is no single point of failure.
• Define a Detailed Disaster Recovery strategy which aligns into the Enterprise DR strategy
• Define the server configuration and settings to ensure optimal performance not just on user navigation and content retrieval but also on Search.
• Define the information architecture and taxonomy for the intranet portal.
• Define the integration architecture for SharePoint to integrate with various disparate systems (HR, Active Directory, etc)
• Define the architecture and design the solutions to address business requirements.
• Provide direction to the project team on where configuration changes can be made to utilize “Out of the Box” functionality instead of code customizations
• Provide guidance to the development team, SharePoint Admin and SharePoint DBA in terms of best practices and governance procedures for SharePoint custom solutions for the enterprise Portal.
• Define project deliverable standards and ensure quality of customer deliverables and alignment to industry best practices
• Define and enforce security rules at all levels (farm, site collection, page, document, etc)
Skills:
• Minimum of 5+ years experience as a SharePoint information and solutions architect
• Working knowledge and experience on SharePoint 2013 especially on Search and Business Intelligence/ Reporting Analytics
• Minimum of that 3+ year in an infrastructure architecture role in areas like but not limited to hosting, storage, network, VMware, tools and application platforms (ERP)
• Experience in developing a company intranet using SharePoint technologies
• Experience facilitating meetings with multiple customers and technical staff, including building consensus and mediating compromises when necessary.
• Experience in project development life cycle.
• Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and standards
