Competitive Intelligence Specialist, Neustar – NY

Neustar is looking for a competitive intelligence specialist.

This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining an up to date assessment and understanding of the information services and analytics industry, helping Neustar keep track of the competitive environment and its abilities to react to competitive actions.

As the go-to-expert of the information services and analytics industry, you will be responsible for providing the latest insights into market trends and competitive actions, as well as playing a pivotal role in the product and offer development process acting as the definitive source of competitive perspective.
Responsibilities/Key Tasks:

  • Market research and analysis
    • Conduct research on the competitive landscape; including market group/segmentation, market size, market growth, key trends, new developments/solutions, and key companies in the information service and analytics industry
    • Conduct research on major/emerging competitors in the information service and analytics industry, covering topics such as size, capabilities, solutions, product roadmap, customer selection, strategic direction, M&A activity, etc.
    • Provide research support to the broader Neustar organization (marketing, product, and sales) on topics related to the competitive landscape
  • Product and offer development
    • Support marketing leads and product managers with competitive insights to aid in new offer idea generation (competitive threats/offerings, external product portfolios, etc.)
  • Knowledge management
    • Present market competitive insights to relevant teams across the broader organization as needed
Own, maintain, and update competitive intelligence documents  such as market dossiers, flash reports, etc.

Qualifications/Education Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; related field preferred
  • Ideal candidates will have 2 to 4 years of professional experience, ideally in information services and analytics industry or catering to the information services and analytics industry in a market research/competitive intelligence/strategy role
  • Knowledge of information tools and products including data-sources such as Thomson ONE, Bloomberg, Factiva, FactSet, SNL and Dealogic
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel
