Reed Elsevier is seeking a Director, Information Architecture. This position is based in Philadelphia, PA.

This newly created leadership role will enjoy the opportunity
to define, plan and design a future state information architecture that
fully leverages market leading content through a range of cutting edge
multi-channel products supporting ~$200m in current annual revenues.
Reporting to the SVP & GM, Content group of Elsevier Clinical
Solutions (ECS), the Director, Information Architecture will be
accountable for improving information access and usability by defining,
planning, designing, and implementing an information structure for
integrated databases, web-based and other information products/knowledge
initiatives within the ECS Content group in collaboration with Content
Directors, Product Managers, Product Technology, and Operations.Key requirements:

Given the key nature of the position and the potential it holds within ECS you should be able to influence key decision makers across departments/divisions in Elsevier and work with business leaders in a consultative fashion.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will possess:- An excellent understanding of common information architecture, information models, metamodels, healthcare-related taxonomies and ontologies, and their associated development techniques
- Strong expertise in data modeling and information classification
- Experience of conceptualizing site layouts and navigation models based on usability best practices
- Experience in the creation of wireframes, navigation maps, and site maps
- The ability to work with complex XML data including transformation techniques and schemas
- Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript,
- The ability to conduct usability studies and translate into user task flow and screen design
- Good decision-making and problem-solving ability with strong leadership and influencing skills
- The ability to plan at a strategic level and set and achieve stretch goals
- The ability and vision to drive innovative ideas, while applying sensible business knowledge to decisions
- Strong people management skills
- An enthusiasm for acquiring a detailed knowledge of platforms and technologies used within Elsevier, and of Elsevier standards and best practices for electronic/database publishing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Sciences.
- At least 7 years’ experience in IT, with at least 2 years in developing information strategies.
- Experience in HIT services and information management is a plus
