Brinckerhoff, an international transportation engineering firm with
14,000 people in 150 offices, seeks an Image Librarian to work in a
recently opened shared services
office in Lancaster, PA.
This position provides the primary management of the firm's enterprise-wide image library. The principal duties are as follows:
- Lead the overall management, maintenance and update strategy of the company’s digital asset management system.
- Perform all aspects of the workflow, including the identification of images, assign keywords (metadata) to them, uploading images to a database, granting permissions for the remote uploading of images by others, and spot checking same for corporate standard consistency.
- Assign appropriate metadata identifying copyright ownership and usage rights.
- Facilitate retrieval of previously catalogued images.
- Archive hard copy assets as necessary.
- Maintain accurate procedures and user guide for the system and provide user training.
- Keep informed of the latest Digital Asset Management technology trends and innovations for possible system upgrades.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the system inventories – which images are current, and which are most frequently requested, etc.
- Work closely with others throughout the company including the corporate photographer, to identify specific image needs and assist in planning photo shoots.
Job Requirements
• BA in Library Science, graphics, or a closely related field.
• Must have at least seven years relevant experience in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of database or image cataloguing software.
• Familiarity with various image file types and uses, Photoshop and PowerPoint.
