Reference Instruction Librarian/Assessment

The Division of Libraries, Academic Technology and Online Learning is
seeking a Reference Instruction Librarian/Assessment for the Learning
Commons, This is a tenure track or multiple year contract track, rank
open, 12 month appointment.
Reporting to the Head of Library Learning Commons, this position will
assume a leadership role in the improvement of student information
literacy management skills and be part of the team responsible for
assessment of learning outcomes. The candidate should expect to engage
in
- Development of face-to-face, blended and online instructional sessions and modalities
- Application of evaluation strategies to assessment tools and surveys.
- Supportive of collaborative working relationships with library and other academic faculty and departments across the College in order to contribute to and enhance the services of the Libraries.
As a member of the overall Library Learning Commons (LLC) team, this
person will develop productive relationships with appropriate
individuals and departments to advance the objectives and mission of the
LLC. This position will also provide reference services, including
teaching and instruction (some nights and weekends may be required),
collection development, and will serve as a liaison to one or more of
the Schools. While this position is primarily located at the Mercy
College Dobbs Ferry Library Learning Commons, travel to other campuses
is an expectation.

Preferred qualifications: MLS or equivalent experience required,
additional master’s degree(s) in an area related to Mercy curriculum
highly desirable. Desirable candidates will have a portfolio of
materials related to information literacy, assessment techniques and
technology fluency.
