P/T - Research and Digital Svcs Librarian - US Court of Appeals (NJ)

Research & Digital Services Librarian

Position Type: Part time, 20 hours per week.
Salary Range: Starting salary range: $25,892- 32,364, depending on experience, qualifications, and salary history. 
Closing Date: Applications should be received by May 18 to be assured full consideration.  Anticipated start date June 4, 2012.
Location: Court of Appeals, Newark, NJ
 
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
Provides research and reference services for court legal researchers
Assists in the design, development, and delivery of education and training programs for court researchers
Assists in developing effective information delivery methods for licensed digital products
Participates in collection development by evaluating and recommending the addition of print and digital information resources
Assists in authenticating, organizing, and preserving materials of historical significance to the Third Circuit
 
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

M.L.S. degree or equivalent from an ALA-accredited school of library or information science
Skill in using various office software products including word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Adobe
Strong legal research skills; strong analytical, written, and oral communications skills
Ability to manifest the highest degree of professionalism, discretion, and tact at all times due to the substantial amount of interpersonal communication necessary to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position
Applicant must be a United States citizen or eligible to work for the federal government

PREFERRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
At least one year of library experience
Experience using Westlaw and LexisNexis software∙
Experience building digital databases including digitizing of original materials, preparation of metadata, and interface design
Skill in developing training plans and conducting training sessions
Skill in using integrated library system like SirsiDynix
Experience working with archival collections including non-textual formats such as photographs, audio, and video
