Operational Advocacy Researcher, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) – NY

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an independent international medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, exclusion from health care, or natural disasters.

The New York office of MSF is seeking an Operational Advocacy Researcher to provide support to the Operational Advocacy Advisor (OAA) on conducting in-depth analysis and research of assigned contexts/themes.
In this role the ideal candidate will provide research, analytical support, and strategic input to the OAA and advocacy team. This includes monitor developing trends in global health and international humanitarian literature and publications as well as tracking specific political and medical dossiers, and support the planning and preparation of meetings with relevant advocacy contacts..

To qualify the ideal candidate must have minimum 3 years directly relevant work experience plus Bachelor’s degree. Background on international humanitarian affairs preferred and be passionate about MSF’s mission and programs. Ideal candidate is a strong team player, pays keen attention to detail, and is able to synthesize complex and sensitive material and record information accurately and appropriately in the form of minutes. 

Fluency in French is strongly preferred.

Starting salary: high 60′s to low 70s commensurate with experience; excellent benefits
