Medical Records Dir., Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center – NY
Job Description:
The Associate Director under the direct supervision of the Network Director of the Health Information Management Department is responsible to monitor the various sections of the department and to identify systems problems that prevent functions from being accomplished.
- Monitors day to day operations within the Health Information Department
- Prepares statistical reports on Chart Completion and other standards
- Oversees the daily functions and makes necessary assignments based on the need of the department.
- Attends committee meetings and also attends meetings in the absence of the Director.
- Performs Performance Improvement monitoring, using the PDSA methodology
- Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget
- Ensures the department meets regulatory guidelines and standards
- Completes Performance Evaluations on staff
- Ensures Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Assists other dutied as assigned
1. A Baccalaureate Degree in Management, Health
Administration, Business Administration, Medical Records or related
approved programs and credentials as a Registered Record Administrator,
or Accredited Record Technician.
2. Eight (8) years of responsible experience in the
development of medical record systems and organization of medical record
departments, including two (2) years of experience in the performance
of administrative or management functions; and,
3. Thorough knowledge of E.D.P. concepts and equipment,
systems analysis, management principles, medical record administration,
ICD-9-CM coding, indexing and medical terminology. Knowledge of the
“Standards” of Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation; and,
4. Administrative ability to direct and supervise personnel or professional, technical, administrative and clerical capacities.
