Digital Content Mgr, Achievement Network (Remote)

(Remote) Digital Content Mgr., Achievement Network (ANet) – NY

Achievement Network (ANet), an education nonprofit, seeks a Digital content Manager. This is a virtual, remote position with occasional travel.
Achievement Network (ANet) is an education nonprofit that helps schools boost student learning with great teaching—teaching that’s grounded in standards, informed by data, and built on the successful practices of educators around the country.
Position Overview:
We seek a full-time Digital Content Manager. This full-time, virtual position can be based anywhere in the U.S. and is available immediately. Occasional travel is required.
As the Digital Content Manager, you will support the organization’s efforts to develop a state-of-the-art, comprehensive repository of Open Educational Resources (OER) PK-12 curricular and professional development materials and videos for educators across the country. You will have the opportunity to advise and participate in the development of brand new educational technology products, and to manage these products on an ongoing basis as the volume of content grows and as the organization evolves alongside the educators it serves. You will also help the organization grow and expand its national visibility through social media and other marketing work. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside thought leaders in PK-12 education and to help scale their vision to a national audience.
This position requires technical acumen, excellent project management skills, and passion for PK-12 education.
Responsibilities:
Content Management (40%)
  • Manage all content related to the organization’s web presence, including website content and any social media presence.
  • Curate site content in collaboration with content specialists.
  • Write, edit, proofread and otherwise review site content for accuracy, timeliness, and consistency with the organization’s voice, brand, and mission.
  • Work closely with the technical team (internal and external) to ensure that new site development aligns with content management needs and roadmaps.
  • Support synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for educators
  • Review and advise on site changes, improvements, and technical enhancements based on web analytics.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership on social media and digital outreach strategy to promote the organization, its site, materials, and events.
  • Craft site promotions, email newsletters, and online outreach campaigns on social media and other channels (if applicable).
Project Management (40%)
  • Ensure that digital projects are delivered on time, within budget, and within agreed-upon scope.
  • Manage the development of new content to be developed by the organization for inclusion on the website (including significant development of video content).
  • Manage vendors and independent contractors, including but limited to copyeditors, branding support staff, and others.
  • Work cross-functionally with content teams, event planners, and third-party vendors (including copyeditors and branding/communications vendors) to ensure that time-sensitive materials are developed, reviewed, and ready for public consumption on schedule.
Other Duties and Responsibilities (20%)
  • Support the Director of Digital Strategy and the Director of Product Development with other technical and digital initiatives and projects the organization undertakes.

Experience and Educational Background requirements:
  • Experience managing the administration, development and implementation of a project, product, or program.
  • Demonstrated experience with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with content management systems (e.g. Drupal, WordPress, etc).
  • Experience managing or contributing to the creation of videos.
  • Demonstrated experience with web analytics platforms and social media management/analytics.
  • Experience with digital document management programs such as DropBox, Google Drive, Adobe products.
  • Three years of digital content management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
  • Understanding of the K-12 Common Core State Standards.
  • Experience with large volumes of content in varieties of digital formats, both web native and other.
