P/T - Adjunct Reference & Instruction Librarian – Brooklyn College Library (Brooklyn)



The Brooklyn College Library seeks to hire one or more adjunct Reference and Instruction Librarians for part-time work during the Fall 2015 semester. The selected candidate(s) will perform general reference duties, QuestionPoint chat reference, work on the library’s libguides, and possibly teach basic research instruction sessions related to the use of library and research resources in all formats.

An ALA-accredited MLS is required. Successful candidates will have an established record of excellence in reference service in an academic library and enthusiasm for working collegially in a diverse and busy environment.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience within CUNY libraries, with QuestionPoint or another chat reference service, and with overseeing service operations during assigned hours.

Anticipated need during the Fall 2015 semester includes a variety of shifts: one evening 7:00-11:00pm, Wednesdays 1:00-5:00pm and/or Saturdays or Sundays 10:00am-6:00pm.
