Manager, Prospect & Information Management; Learning Ally – NJ
Purpose of the Position: To manage a comprehensive
program for identifying, recording, and evaluating donors, parents,
volunteers, members, prospects and gifts for Learning Ally’s ongoing
fund development initiatives. The Manager accomplishes this through a
sophisticated program of database management and information retrieval
across the organization together with research and analysis involving
highly confidential data and using the latest on-line technology and
resources. Database management includes oversight of the Raiser’s Edge
prospect management database, and developing systems to evaluate, import
and export other organizational databases (e.g. NetSuite and
Volgistics) to ensure that Financial Development (FD) has comprehensive
information on constituent relationships across the organization.
Primary Position Objectives:
1. Oversee all FD systems and ensure system integrity. Ensure data structures properly map to the business needs. All reporting is available to Financial Development (FD) and other department staff to properly manage the related FD goals and reporting needs.
2. Develop and coordinate processes for effective use of pertinent information in the NetSuite and Volgistics databases aligned with that of Raiser’s Edge, leading to accurate and efficient intelligence, reporting and metrics. Recommend revisions and improvements to existing reports and processes, and assists in the development of new reporting methodologies as needed.
3. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with the IT and Accounting departments to ensure alignment and integration of information systems.
4. Oversee Raiser’s Edge database management, gift entry, analysis and reporting and provide measures of progress toward meeting or exceeding fund development revenue goals. Ensure reporting and metrics are available to department and other staff.
5. Manage the identification, evaluation and research of potential major donors to ensure a consistently high quality pipeline of resources is available to fundraisers. Ensure prospect management supports fundraisers to cultivate and solicit donors based upon their financial capacity and philanthropic affinity to maximize philanthropic revenues.
6. Work collaboratively to support and guide fellow FD staff to maximize the achievement of goals through efficient and effective data and information management. Build collaborative relationships with other departments to ensure alignment and integration of FD practices.
7. Assist the VP, Philanthropy in developing and managing annual departmental expense budget.
8. Monitor the establishment and maintenance of fund accounts including recording of gifts, restrictions on accounts, and payments/withdrawals on accounts according to fundraising and accounting best practices.
9. Oversee compliance with government, state and grant regulations and reporting standards as they relate to FD and Accounting protocols.
10. Provide proactive customer service to Learning Ally’s functional areas in terms of fundraising information, reports, and guidance.
11. Responsible for ensuring organizational goals, departmental priorities and performance expectations are clearly communicated. All reporting staff understands and is working effectively toward business goals, and individual objectives, and development plans are focused on these priorities.
12. Responsible for selecting, managing, coaching, evaluating and developing staff to meet individual, departmental and organizational goals. Implement ongoing staff engagement activities, and ensure clear communication channels are in place.
13. Foster a working environment that supports Learning Ally’s cultural values. Act as a role model and engage in discussions and feedback to ensure the intent of the culture statement is integrated into day-to-day activities, planning and communications.
14. Participate in other Learning Ally activities as required to achieve organizational goals.
Job Requirements:
Education
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Work experience
Strong proficiency with Raisers Edge
Knowledge of Volgistics and/or NetSuite preferable, alternatively excellent database acumen and with the ability to quickly identify critical data points and successfully implement system integration
3-5 years development operations with evidence of management skills and/or problem solving success, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Supervisory experience
