Knowledge Management Specialist, InfoCurrent (agency) – PA
Major Responsibilities
- Partners with the Associate Director in ensuring the efficient and effective development, management, and maintenance of taxonomies, ontologies, dictionaries, and other semantic components being leveraged for an internal search application.
- Conducts frequent testing of the search application and manages processes for addressing results of testing.
- Conducts search log analysis to address issues with search experience makes enhancements to the search capability.
- Monitors the medical literature to identify additions and modifications to the Medical Literature Repository as well as to the semantic components.
- Conducts quality control including proofreading, editing, and duplicate detection
Job Requirements
Requirements- Knowledge of taxonomy/ontology functionality and tools, including Protégé and SmartLogic Semaphore
- Knowledge of search capabilities, including FAST for SharePoint 2010 or SharePoint 2013
- Comfortable working in a highly technical environment and interacting with IT partners
- Ability and desire to learn new applications and technologies
- Facility with PC technologies, including Microsoft Office
- Library, Information Science, or Computer Science background
Preferred Qualifications
- Life Sciences or other scientific background
- Experience with searching biomedical literature databases, e.g., OVID, PubMed
- Experience with content management systems, including SharePoint and Documentum
