Archivist
The
Library Association of the City University of New York in order to
formalize the organizational records of this organization founded on
March 17, 1939, will hire an archivist to integrate records of the
organization into the existing
file structure and to revise and expand the existing collection finding
aid. This effort is to enable this organization to uncover information
related to its history. These records housed at the Archives of The
City College of New York constitute 60 linear
feet. This position will be available for 90 hours and will be
compensated at $38.91 per hour. (Or as a lump sum of $3,500.00) The
individual will report to Professor Sydney Van Nort, Chief of the
Division of Archives and Special Collections at The City
College of New York.
This
is a temporary entry-level position suitable for those who have
recently obtained a Master’s degree with an Archival Concentration (MLS,
MLIS, or MA in history) and/or who have 1-2 years processing archival
collections. This individual
should have knowledge of archival theory, methodology, and practice;
and knowledge of archival descriptive standards; and demonstrated
experience with Microsoft Office and Archivist’s Toolkit. The position
will remain open until filled.
