Assistant Editor, A.M. Best (NJ)

A.M. Best is seeking an Assistant Editor for its office in Oldwick, NJ.

Founded in 1899, A.M. Best Company is a full-service credit rating organization dedicated to serving the insurance industry. Policyholders refer to Best’s ratings and analysis as a means of assessing the financial strength and creditworthiness of risk-bearing entities and investment vehicles. We are currently seeking an Assistant Editor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Write reports on various businesses, industries and municipal services for product geared toward professional underwriters and loss control professionals.
  • Involves conducting extensive research via multiple channels, including internet, phone interviews and on-site visits.
  • Some proofreading and editing of other editor’s reports is required.
    Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a writing and/or research-oriented field (English, History, Journalism, Library Science).
  • Excellent writing and research skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required for on-site visits and interviews.
  • Knowledge of Property/Casualty insurance industry helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Willingness to travel locally up to 10%.
