Design Librarian, and 3D Printer Specialist, Movado Group – NJ
Movado Group is seeking a candidate to manage library related materials and create/enforce library processes both for physical and virtual items. They will support the product development and design departments in the research, organization, and tracking of all related materials. In addition, they will be responsible for administering MGI’s rapid prototyping process which includes preparing models for printing and presentation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of the 3D printers.Roles and Responsibilities:
Library
- Manage incoming new materials, including the data entry and definition of incoming items
- Update supplier and/or material catalogs in coordination with other library locations
- Assist in the implementation and setup of tool for data logging
- Assist teams in researching information and finding items
- Control movement of inventory between locations and within library space
- Coordinate addition of new materials with directors of product development and project management
- Utilization and organization of physical and virtual storage systems in Paramus and Moonachie locations to record transactions in movement of inventory
- Conduct physical inventory checks and cycle counts
- Dispose of outdated or irrelevant materialso Communication
- Facilitate communication between international library locations
- Communicate when new items arrive
- Organize meetings for presentation of new materials
- Create, manage, and communicate monthly e-blasts/newsletters
- Pre-processing (calibrate lamp, build support structure and build tray in the software package)
- Post-processing (remove model(s) from build platform, cure in oven, remove support structure, and clean)
- Periodic maintenance for optimal operating conditions: calibrate build positions, clean/replace bottom filter
- Provide problem diagnosis and assist with technical issues and requests
- Conduct training and demonstration of 3D printing for userso Liaise between MGI and equipment manufacturer for maintenance and continuous improvement of services
- Follow all prescribed internal and manufacturer maintenance procedures Provide a user-focused approach with an appropriate sense of urgency and attention to detail when handling machine issues
Job Requirements :
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience with multiple computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, information database systems, etc.)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Customer Service skillls
- Familiarity with CAD or 3D desing software, rapid prototyping industry, and library systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a library and its collection
- Must be self-motivated and work effectively on projects with minimal direct supervision
- Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills
- Proficiency in multitasking
- Fine motor skills, precision workmanship, and attention to detail.
