Archivist/Information Scientist, Sanofi US – NJ
The Archivist/Information Scientist will be responsible for the North Brunswick GLP archive and document management system. This position also assists the GLP information function in Bridgewater.
This position will maintain both electronic database and hardcopy systems in a regulatory compliant manner, including the transfer of new and existing hardcopy files into an electronic database system (eRoom).
This includes all scientific and facility related documents (methods, protocols, specifications, calibration and equipment/instrument records). Maintenance of the database includes efficient/effective searching capabilities (document ID, cross-referencing, keywords, etc.)
Serves as Laboratory Notebook registry to support North Brunswick and other Merial and Sanofi R&D sites.
- Archive documents and notebooks (hard copies and e-copies) according to GxP regulations for North Brunswick site. Assists in similar activities at Bridgewater site.
- Manages all scientific and facility related documents (methods, protocols, specifications, calibration and equipment/instrument records) within the GLP archive and document management system. This includes check-in / check –out of documents as well as certifying documents with electronic signature.
- Act as an information expert to logically and relationally link and cross reference all scientific material for ease in identification and retrieval. Creates electronic entries in eRoom database system including cross-referencing and creation of keywords related to documents to allow for more efficient/effective searching.
- Scanning of existing hardcopy documents to create electronic entries.
- Manage continuous improvement to all aspects of the archiving systems which includes the submission, categorizing, labeling, filing, indexing, retrieval, and tracking of the archived documents and e-documents.
- Manage Laboratory notebooks, including purchasing, issuing, tracking and imaging for North Brunswick, Bridgewater and Great Valley.
- Coordinates the subscription, purchase, and use of scientific periodicals, books and other holdings with the Library function in Duluth.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or univesity
A mimimum of 2 years’ experience in pharmaceutical archiving/records management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated/working knowledge of GxP regulations, including GLP archives.
- Electronic database/eRoom knowledge, including searching and grouping of documents.
- Cross referencing skills.
- Knowledge of scientific documentation, including methods, protocols, specifications.
- Scientific/library science skills.
- Ability to work independently or in teams.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Adobe Acrobat Pro software familiarity
- Excellent customer focus.
- Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.
