Legal Reference and Metadata Librarian, Rutgers University – NJ
In addition to providing reference and research services to students and faculty, the Reference and Metadata Librarian will take a lead role in developing and expanding the library’s growing collection of free online legal resources that currently include New Jersey case law, administrative decisions and statutory resources. The library is committed to expanding public access to legal materials and is digitizing historic legal materials and archival documents associated with historic New Jersey cases. There is also an opportunity to teach advanced legal research.
J.D. from an ABA accredited law school; M.L.S. from an ALA accredited program; strong knowledge of legal and government information sources; excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of people; strong service ethic. Knowledge of metadata standards and a strong interest in learning emerging digital library and metadata practices and procedures. Desirable skills include knowledge of digital repository platforms, such as DSpace and Fedora.
