F/T - Web/Digital Ops. Specialist (Rivers Staffing) (NY)

Web/Digital Ops. Specialist, Rivers Consulting & Staffing – NY

Rivers Consulting & Staffing seeks a Web/Digital Operations Specialist. This position is located in New York City.

The Web/Digital Operations Specialist will be responsible for the timely
delivery of content and functionality on all digital properties and
maintaining the quality of the user experience.

* The nature of this job is to move content to production; when the
content is not in a template CMS format, it will involve moving HTML code to
production. It is not the intent to move application code.
As a member of the Digital Strategy team in the Marketing division, this
individual executes processes and controls to ensure a high quality site
experience, performing the day to day tasks needed to publish and surface
content within a CMS/template driven site environment, execute website
quality testing and monitoring activities and web development projects
(campaign microsites, landing pages).
This individual will work a team of specialists and collaborate closely with
all areas of the Digital Strategy and Web Development groups.

Web Production: 
Maintain existing website on a regular basis and perform ongoing web

Ensure timely implementation of content production tasks.
Monitor content production through the Marketing workflow and content
lifecycles, reporting on progress and delivery/production timelines.

Quality Assurance and Compliance.  QA efforts (UAT, data integrity, and the
tracking of issues through the development process).

* The “testing piece” is about creating and driving on-going “quality
tasks” at the business UAT level.  Would identify what tasks the business
team should do to maintain a quality experience.  Based on the current
business resources, determine the frequencies of the “quality tasks”.
Devise a system and schedule of rotating tasks for the whole team of 4
people.  This is not at all a traditional “code” oriented QA person.
Monitor and audit websites using automated tools and manual processes to
maintain best user experience.
Web Development: 
Provide content management support and optimization (tagging, HTML/CSS,
content capabilities).

* This is not a “hard-core” developer job.  There will be code
development in terms of making html changes for non-CMS template content.
The person should have enough knowledge of html/CSS to adhere (not conflict)
with the core html/CSS code developed by the hard core developers from other
Participate in User Acceptance Testing for content management system

Competencies for Success/Requirements
BA/BS, or highly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
5 years of experience in web production role
* This is a 70% production role and 30% development role.  What is
appropriate would be people who are used to and want to do production work.
What is not appropriate would be people who want to do creative development
coding work.  
Experience with Content Management Systems (Joomla, WordPress or similar
data driven systems), strong understanding of web-based content delivery
that leverages tagging or personalization capabilities.

* We are looking for experience with different &/or home-grown CMS
systems because it provides the candidate a perspectives on what a CMS is;
“other tools” could be video hosting systems like BrightCove, image
management systems like MediaBin or Adobe Creative Suite, digital asset
management systems, WordPress, etc.  In terms of what they need to know, we
are looking for experience working with these systems from the Content
Management perspective and the experience of solving operation integration
problems on systems that closely work with CMS type systems.
Working knowledge of HTML and CSS with a strong focus on web standards.
Self-motivated and highly proactive.
Exceptional attention to detail with a quality and customer first mindset.
Strong collaboration skills, ability to work with a team as well as being
able to self-direct work activities.
