Database Administrator and Prospect Researcher, Publicolor – NYC
Reporting to the Vice President for Institutional
Advancement, the DBA and Prospect Researcher will be responsible for
maintaining the integrity of Publicolor‘s donor and
prospect database. S/he will perform data input and cleansing,
contribution/variance reporting and analysis, mailing list management
and exports. The position will assume a leadership roll in
donor/prospect research, relationship management and accountability.
Specific responsibilities will include:
•Manage the daily operation of the database (Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge), which tracks gift/financial, and other profile information on corporate, foundation, individual and government supporters and prospects with 10,000+ donor records
•Generate timely acknowledgement letters and tax receipts for all donations.
•Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data, including input and output, technology management, and end-user training and support.
•Create mailing lists for multiple direct mail appeals including membership drive, invitations to cultivation events and special fund raising benefits with parameters specified by development team and Founder+President
•Serve as an active prospect researcher, targeting prospects for personal visits and moving annual donors through the donor pyramid into the next giving level working with the development team, Board members and President+Founder. Make creative connections between and among people, events, programs, and their associated circles.
•Create weekly and quarterly reports and fund raising calendar for development planning/analysis and reporting to the Board and management
•Serve as the advancement liaison with finance for reconciliation of records
•Coordinate and plan for future data conversions/upgrades as needed.
•Develop and maintain efficient systems for data cleansing, data entry, gift processing, prospect research, and relationship management.
•Provide support and resolutions for Mac and PC hardware, printer and software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor’s degree required and five years experience in managing a complex database a plus.
•Advanced working knowledge of Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge
•Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office 2011, FileMaker Pro 12
•Facility with Mac and Windows platforms
•Must possess knowledge of fundraising principles and practices
•Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills.
•Experience in research using multiple on-line sources
•Aptitude for the management and effective use of information systems in support of a development program.
•Initiative and independence in carrying out responsibilities.
•Excellent organization skills with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and a variety of demands.
•Strong self-motivation and the ability to work as a team member.
•Commitment to maintain confidentiality and a high degree of accuracy in donor records.
