Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York is seeking a Library Technician Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad).
Position: Library Technician Interlibrary Loan (ILLiad)
Reporting to the Associate Librarian of Technical Services
The James E. Tobin Library has an seeks an energetic, detail and service orientated person to work in technical services. The ideal candidate is willing to be both flexible and versatile by supporting patrons and librarians in a number of areas within the library. This is a 12 month staff position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process all interlibrary loan requests using the ILLiad system for ILL.
- Scan documents for ILL and eReserves.
- Check-in / out ILL materials and lending of books and articles from the Molloy collection to other libraries.
- Update and edit serial records as required.
- Retrieve any serial or reserve articles requested by students or faculty.
- Prepare books and journals for the bindery.
- Assist librarians in any related projects.
- Perform all related functions at the Circulation Desk as needed.
- Prepare all new books coming into the collection.
- Other library related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher. MLS from an American Library Association Accredited School is a plus. Demonstrated job experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Prior experience in technical services in an academic setting and experience working with OCLC’s ILLiad interlibrary loan system is highly desirable.
- Prior experience with ExLibris Voyager and Ares e-reserves system is a plus.
- Candidate must be detail orientated with a strong sense of customer service.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Hours:
- Monday –Friday 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m
