Hospital Librarian, Patient Care Services/DEP (Per Diem), University Hospital – NJ
Under the direction of the Director of Education and Professional Development, the per diem Hospital Librarian is on call to assist with outreach activities associated with the Health Education Center in the UH Lobby, Ambulatory Care Center, Emergency Department and University Hospital Cancer Center. On an as needed basis, assists with the creation and acquisition of low literacy, multilingual health information, the collection of data on distribution of materials, and other related activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science or Information Technology or Health Education required; Master’s Degree preferred. Must be proficient in the use of technology-based library systems; for example, scholarly information resources and databases, electronic journals and books. Familiarity with consumer health resources. Able to present short workshops on health-related topics. Multilingual skills, particularly Spanish, is an advantage. Excellent organizational and communication skills (written & oral) are essential.
