Academic Content Specialist, Kaplan Inc. – NYC
Kaplan Inc is looking for Academic Content Specialist to improve and expand
website content taxonomy
What we’re looking for:
We’re building an open platform that makes practice questions free for anyone who wants to teach or learn. Come join us!
We’re being incubated.
Learningpod (www.learningpod.com) is backed by Kaplan (www.kaplan.com), a Washington Post company (NYSE: WPO) , which gives us incredible access to the education industry and expertise around learning and assessment. We started developing the platform in 2012.
Join us in New York.
You’ll work in our downtown Manhattan office, located in the brand new WeWork Labs co-working space, with a diverse (and, dare we say, amazing) team that’s solving interesting and challenging problems. Because of our relatively small size, you’ll have a lot of influence over what we build and how we build it.
What else? We’re agile. We emphasize ad-hoc huddles over ceremonies, but we do have a daily stand-up and short planning sessions. Finally, we like open-source technologies and hope you do, too.
To apply: https://sjobs.brassring.com/1033/ASP/TG/cim_jobdetail.asp?jobId=887151&PartnerId=375&SiteId=138&type=search&JobReqLang=1&recordstart=1&codes=IDD
What we’re looking for:
- Expert in K-12 curriculum/assessment with strong understanding of Common Core State Standards.
- Familiarity with XML content and/or content management systems.
- Experience building taxonomies and tagging content.
- Lead the effort to curate and organize content so it is meaningful and relevant to our users.
- Constantly improve and expand Learningpod’s content taxonomy as questions flow into the system.
- Evaluate content from potential partners and ensure content gaps are identified and closed.
