Description
The Elsevier Health Sciences (EHS) Smart
Content Product Manager is responsible for the extension of Elsevier
Merged Medical Taxonomy (EMMeT) to fully support select clinical
vocabularies, terminologies, and coding systems such as FMA, SNOMED-CT,
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and LOINC. The Product Manager must have proven
expertise in building crosswalks among standard terminologies, with
specific experience in normalizing, mapping, resolving conflicts, and
managing updates. Ideally, s/he will have background in clinical
informatics. Experience with domain modeling is required. Partnering with domain experts and product managers to clearly identify and define vocabulary requirements for EHS products
- Creating a roadmap for the inclusion of selected vocabularies in EMMeT
- Implementing best practices for vocabulary management
- Supporting and working closely with the Knowledge Representation Specialists on the mapping of vocabularies into EMMeT
- With the Smart Content VP and Director, aligning vocabulary extensions to the overall business goals for EMMeT
- Working with the technology and operations teams to provide enhanced tool requirements for vocabulary management
- Setting and meeting project deliverables and timelines using Agile development methodology
- Monitoring developments in medical informatics and terminology standards
Qualifications
- Informatics degree, preferably medical or bio-informatics
- At least one year of clinical domain modeling experience with standard medical vocabularies and crosswalks including to ICD, SNOMED, MeSH, UMLS, and others
- Experience working in Health Information Technology (HIT) including Electronic Health Records (EHR) development or implementation.
- Established network within the medical informatics community
- Knowledgeable of the product development process
- Proven communication skills
- Ability to quickly and successfully build relationships and credibility with all teams across a matrix organization
- Management experience preferred
- Typically possesses over 5 years of relevant work experience
