We are looking to hire a group of 5-7 Trademark Researchers for our NYC office (111 8th Ave). There will be a 3 month paid training program for the successful candidates.

Position overview:

• $34,000 annualized salary plus quarterly bonus program.
• Total cash compensation at target $40,000
• Monday – Friday, regular business hours + overtime

Duties:
• Establish clear understanding of the customer intellectual property (IP) to be researched and run numerous queries to identify existing IP owned or claimed by other entities by following standard protocol to enter key words, terms and phrases from the developed list into query tools within Wolters Kluwer CT Corsearch systems and databases; searching major search engines and other general Internet sites through the Wolters Kluwer online environment; accessing and querying other non-Wolters Kluwer databases (for example, Lexis Nexis, Dialog, Westlaw); and building off prior query results to pursue additional searches.
• Generate comprehensive lists of brand names, titles, trademarks, copyrights and related intellectual property that are similar or the same as the customer IP by reviewing the numerous search results; identifying and flagging relevant marks or IP; culling and marking results to be disregarded; ordering relevant marks by significance to the client’s mark, intended use and industry; and following work flow and processes standards to finalize and capture the search activity and results within the CT Corsearch system.
• Complete search and report compilation by submitting search results to Quality Assurance for review; answering questions about the search; and making corrections and adjustments as directed.
Qualifications: Requirements:

• Associate’s degree required (or equivalent)
• Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year year institution (preferred)
• Research experience (non-clinical), in either a university or work-related setting, preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong internet and data base skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to think analytically
• This position would also suit creative people
