F/T - Technology News Editor - Library Journal

Opening: Technology News Editor
 
Library Journal, the leading publication in the library field, with twice-monthly print and daily web publications, seeks an enthusiastic reporter/editor for a broad-based position. The job includes coverage of technology news (from large-scale issues like open source and discovery to more granular ones like self-check, RFID, and mobile applications) as well as general library news (with an emphasis on academic libraries).
 
Reporter/editor also helps develop technology features (writing, editing, recruiting writers) and edits technology columns. Reporter/editor will develop and sustain relationships with vendors, librarians, and outside experts, and represent Library Journal at conferences and on panels.
 
Position requires strong editing and reporting skills, willingness to work collaboratively, understanding of libraries and broader tech world, and familiarity with social networking technologies. Journalism/editing experience required; MLS helpful. This position is based in our Manhattan office.
