P/T - Records Analysts - NYCEDC

Description

Responsible for analyzing, inventorying, indexing, researching and locating NYCEDC department files. The mission is to assist NYCEDC departments in the timely maintenance, access, storage, and retrieval of records and to assist the Records Management Department Vice President with special projects as assigned.


Key Responsibilities

  • Box intake and number assignment; analyzing, classifying and organizing records; indexing paper records within the records management application; generating file folder labels from the application for placement on physical folders; performing data entry quality control checks
  • Archiving paper records; tracking the changing locations of file folders and boxes utilizing the records management barcode scanning functionality; performing pickups and deliveries
  • Searching the records management application and other sources to identify and enable the retrieval of requested records and information
  • Answering Records Management Help Desk inquiries
  • Electronically imaging important and mission-critical paper records on an as-needed basis
  • Performing various records processing and records circulation activities relating to specific projects as they arise
  • Preparation of various statistical reports related to records management workflow and production

Qualifications

  • At least 2-4 years records management or library experience
  • College Degree preferred.
  • Proven strength in Microsoft Office applications
  • Demonstrated interest in and understanding of various technologies

The Records Management Department is a service department within NYCEDC whose mission is to systematically and centrally manage the organization’s records collection throughout its lifecycle. Records Management indexes, maintains, preserves, retrieves and destroys NYCEDC’s records in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, while adhering to NYCEDC’s Records Retention Schedules and to all legal, regulatory and audit requirements.
