What You'll Do:
Reporting to the Director of Prospect Research and Strategy, the Research Data Analyst is part of a seven-person team responsible for prospect research, prospect identification and prospect management. The Research Data Analyst will manage our team's data and provide research to frontline fundraisers. We seek a candidate with strong organization, communication and time management skills, an inquisitive mind, the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable reports, and the talent and skill required to manage large amounts of data.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Run and create as needed, a variety of reports that ensure our best prospects are properly assigned.
- Verify high-level capacity ratings on wealth-screened lists using research resources like WealthEngine and LexisNexis.
- Provide notes and analysis of key findings.
- Assist prospect managers with portfolio coding and updates in order to inform prospect strategy and effective movement toward department goals.
- Complete prospect profiles at the verification and qualification levels. Assist with event research and follow-up.
- Collaborate on prospect identification projects as needed.
- Monitor select publications for significant articles on current or potential MSHS prospects; inform colleagues of relevant news as found.
- Other projects and activities as assigned by the team.
What You'll Bring:
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
Minimum of two years' experience in development research or a related field, such as library sciences, academic research, financial analysis, or law/paralegal.
MS Excel – Intermediate to Advanced
MS Word – Intermediate to Advanced
Experience with development research tools and resources. Experience with Raiser's Edge is a plus.
Must understand information management in a database structure, particularly the ability to store, retrieve, and analyze data. Strong Excel skills required.
Must be detail-oriented with the utmost commitment to protecting the confidentiality of our donors and prospects and collecting information ethically.
