Reference Librarian, Morristown & Morris Township Library – NJ
The Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a friendly, service-oriented librarian to join our dedicated staff. We are a library known for great customer service & programming located in a diverse community in the heart of historical downtown Morristown.
Requirements:
- MLIS from an ALA accredited institution & ability to obtain a NJ Professional Librarian Certificate
- Excellent customer service and communication skills & the ability to work with a diverse population and staff
- Excellent computer & technological skills including proficiency with social media, downloadable media, and various technological devices. The ability to learn and teach new technologies to members of the public and other staff members through classroom and individual instruction
- Evening and weekend hours required
Responsibilities:
- Answering adult reference & readers advisory questions
- Answering technology questions and assisting patrons with OPACs, downloadable media and computer use
- Technical class & individual instruction of topics such as Microsoft Office Suite, personal technology devices and social media
- Book selection & collection development
- Outreach to community organizations and promotion of library resources
- Other duties as required
