Our financial data company is seeking an
Entry-Level Business & Financial Research Associate to help grow our
proprietary and innovative research database. The candidate will work
directly with our Founder & CEO (winner of Top Entrepreneur of The
Year and Top 5 Business School Entrepreneur-in-Residence) and VP of Data
& Research. Though we are currently a small, entrepreneurial team,
comparable companies include FactSet, CapIQ, Bloomberg, Reuters, Venture
Beat, and Hoovers.Our company clients include prominent firms such as:
Google, Oracle, Samsung, 3M, Comcast, Andreessen Horowitz_
Our company research has been featured in sources such as:
Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Forbes, TechCrunch, New York Times_

Location: Chelsea
Commitment: Full Time, 40+ hrs/week
Start Date: Immediate
Primary responsibilities:
- Perform business and financial research and written analysis on specific companies, industries, and deals
- Research, track and analyze real-time business news (including private market M&A, Private Equity, and Venture Capital deal activity)
- Assist in developing our technology-assisted data sourcing process
- Assist with data management and manipulation in Microsoft Excel and our proprietary online database
- Managing our team of research interns
Qualifications:
In addition to having a get-it-done attitude and being highly resourceful, the ideal candidate displays the following characteristics:
- 6 months to 1 year of experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, Accounting Firms, Sales & Trading or Corporate Paralegal
- A fundamental understanding of finance and accounting principles
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and math skills
- Exceptional critical reading skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills (Ability to quickly digest and organize information)
- New or Recent college graduate with and a bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or statistics (or English/journalism/writing degree with extensive knowledge of business/finance)
- Sincere and demonstrated interested in business & financial news
- Advanced in Microsoft Office (Advanced knowledge of Excel and VBA preferred)
- Experienced with SEC filings (10-Ks, 8-Ks, S-1s, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability and desire to learn quickly
- Salary based upon experience and performance, plus stock options
