Independent School Library Director
Location: Northern NJ, easily accessible from Rockland and Westchester Counties and Manhattan
Full-time, 12 month, MLS Preferred
A highly competitive K-12 private school seeks a dynamic, visionary leader who is fluent in recent trends in technology, social media, and information literacy. The successful candidate will work closely with principals and department chairs to re-define the role of the School’s libraries in the age of technology and to more deeply integrate research and information literacy skills into the curriculum.
Responsibilities include:
a) design and implementation of a strategic plan for the school’s libraries, management of Middle and Upper School library and oversight of a Lower School library.
b) manage anticipated space renovation in addition to library programs.
Requirements:
a) Proven ability to bring consensus to disparate constituencies to lead change processes in an inclusive manner.
b) Progressive thinker who has the technological expertise to guide the library through change. The right candidate will be "deeply enmeshed in change" and, of course, technically advanced.
c) Well-versed in the independent school culture experienced as either student or employee (strongly preferred).
