Music Cataloger/Repository Librarian, College of New Jersey – NJ

The College of New Jersey Library is seeking a part-time Music Cataloger/Repository Librarian.

Duties:
Perform copy and original cataloging of the Library’s music materials including music scores and sound recordings using RDA, MARC, LCSH on OCLC and Voyager systems; perform authority work for music materials; participate in maintenance of the Library’s online catalog; perform other duties as assigned.

 
Work closely with the Library’s institutional repository (IR) team in managing the Library’s new digital institutional repository; help to develop, implement, and maintain workflows, including policies and procedures for metadata creation and copyright management, to facilitate communication with faculty and students about submissions, and to provide oversight of library staff and students working on IR implementation and maintenance.
 
Qualifications:
MLS from an ALA accredited institution (or its equivalent) required; degree in music or musicology highly desirable; knowledge of RDA, AACR2, MARC, LCSH, OCLC and authority control for music materials desirable; experience and knowledge of library automated systems (preferably Voyager) desirable; knowledge and experience in library digital repositories and non-MARC metadata standards desirable.

 
Availability/Work hours:

Position is a 10-month annually renewable position, available in September, 2015
13 hours/week with somewhat flexible schedule.
 
Salary:
$17,331–$19,063 (10 month)
