Competitive Intelligence Research Librarian, Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP – NY
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is currently looking for a Competitive Intelligence Research Librarian in its New York Office. This position reports to the Manager of Competitive Intelligence and interacts with a local and virtual team of colleagues who uses an extensive collection of internal and external resources to gather, filter, synthesize, organize, package and deliver business and competitive intelligence information necessary to support firm-wide business and client development. This position will be responsible for general research under the guidance of the Manager of Competitive Intelligence and also for using appropriate tools and technology to gather and disseminate CI deliverables through email, print reports, personal delivery and presentation.
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Library Science (ALA accredited preferred) or equivalent degree, and 3 years of legal and business research experience in a law firm or other professional services environment. The successful candidate will also have knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint, advanced research skills with online searching in corporate databases such as Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, Monitor Suite, Courtlink, S&P Capital IQ, Mergermarket, Pacer, Hoovers and web page development experience. Sharepoint experience is preferred. To perform the job successfully, an individual must demonstrate project management skills, customer service skills, planning/organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, be a self-starter, have the ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands and to interact with all levels of management and departments.
