Supervisor of Engineering Information, Port Authority of NY & NJ – NY
Reporting to the Manager, Information and Regulatory Management, the Supervisor of Engineering Information at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey will be responsible for all aspects of the functional area of the Electronic Document Center, including but not limited to: overseeing operational processes, planning and conducting work that will require judgment in independent evaluation, selection and adaption/modification of standard methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria; devising and defining new solutions to problems encountered within work; effectively managing Engineering information and retrieval
Responsibilities:
Monitor data / document quality and ensure data assets and physical document/drawing assets are effectively secure and managed.
Facilitate information management processes and database administration including development of category / attribute structures, classes, templates and vaults.
Champion data as an enterprise business asset.
Manage control processes and enable efficient organization and lifecycle management of all critical content and documents.
Lead information management projects with diverse teams of subject matter experts to establish data strategies and the most efficient utilization of information management.
Oversee the integration of Engineering information management system with other developed databases to streamline processes.
Collaborate with divisions to identify critical information and define structure, attributes, and nomenclatures for the effective management and retrieval of documents.
Maintain quality metrics of document control and change control, for management review, and make recommendations for improvement.
Assist Manager in evaluating, negotiating, and procuring technical equipment and software.
Assign and delegate work, develop objectives, and provide guidance in the area of responsibility for assigned resources.
Supervise assigned resources of junior Engineers, Architects, and Imaging Analysts and resolve technical conflicts by providing clarification based on Project Management knowledge and experience.
Qualifications:
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Management or Computer Management from an accredited college or university; or a minimum of five (5) years experience in Information and document management.
Knowledge of principles and practices of Engineering and construction including, comprehensive knowledge of contract drawings and project documents.
Knowledge in document management, including understanding relational database functions, database administration, and database operations
Required knowledge of Databases, ECM Systems, Graphics software, Microsoft Project, Adobe Pro and AutoCAD.
