Global Knowledge Manager, Mercer – NJ

The purpose of a Global Knowledge Manager position is to identify and oversee the development and implementation of a knowledge sharing vision and strategy for a business, function or region aligned with the Mercer-wide KM vision and strategy by designing, developing, promoting and maintaining a partnership with the business, regions and functions knowledge management teams and drive value from knowledge to: enhance revenue, reduce costs, improve engagement, enable collaboration, and foster innovation.

Responsibility
 
Knowledge Manager Alignment:
  • Coordinate a diverse group of Knowledge Managers from the businesses, functions, and regions to share best practices and define common approaches. Coach and mentor KMs on developing their business-specific KM strategies, staffing plans, change management and service delivery models. Lead regular calls with core KM group, relay information to the KMs, and escalate issues to leadership.
Knowledge Sharing Processes:
  • Continuously create and improve approaches for sharing and retaining of critical knowledge to ensure Mercer’s risk of knowledge loss is minimized. Educate stakeholders and support retention activities in the businesses, functions, and regions. Align to the employee life cycle of on-boarding to departing to build a culture of continuous knowledge sharing.
Knowledge Management Community:
  • Lead Mercer’s internal KM Community to share best practices, build a cohesive group of knowledge workers committed to Mercer’s KM mission and vision, host calls to share information, coordinate training for community members, and oversee the online community site as a place to drive engagement and knowledge sharing.
Mercer Link Champions Program Manager:
  • Oversee the development of the Mercer Link Champions’ program by recruiting, onboarding, developing contacts in the local offices to promote Mercer Link. Oversee toolkit production and campaign management from idea through to delivery with appropriate product owners. Track metrics and success stories of the materials and program. Foster relationships that build trust, collect feedback about Mercer Link, host quarterly global town halls and regional group calls, lead the online Champions community, prepare leadership reports, track target goals. Elevate and standardize effective local processes to be used globally.
Knowledge Management Training:
Lead Mercer’s internal KM Community training and career development programs, KM Academy and oversee the online training site and information
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 10+ years in Knowledge Management
  • Advanced knowledge of KM maturity models, trends, processes, and best practices.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), listening, facilitation and negotiation skills.
  • Strong organizational and advanced project management skills.
  • Supervisory, people management, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Global breadth and depth in understanding cultural differences that exist within the company in order to effectively work with a wide-range of people.
  • Change management skills.
  • Ability to work in a virtual, global environment.
  • Familiarity with internet, web tools, online environment.
  • Positive outlook, resilience, flexibility and ability to work in an environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently on a global, virtual team
  • Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit to embrace change
