Job Opening: Part-Time Data Management Specialist

 
Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore is seeiking a skilled data management professional interested in a flexible, part-time opportunity who can provide accurate and timely data reporting to management and operational staff. Please read below for position description and requirements.
 
POSITION TITLE: Data Management Specialist (part-time)
 
POSTION SUMMARY: Seeking a skilled data management professional interested in a flexible, part-time opportunity who can provide accurate and timely data reporting to management and operational staff. The data management specialist will interface heavily with other functional specialist to produce data reports and analysis, develop report criteria, maximize database applications and optimize business process for data collection and input. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer, COO.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create custom reports and analysis from a national, CRM membership registration application.
  • Manage custom, MS Access based, program registration application and provide custom reporting and analysis of data.
  • Manage custom MS Access based budget application. Create custom user reports and manage import/export of data into primary accounting application.
  • Generate custom reporting and import/export of data from web based Product Sale management application.
  • Create custom reports, data analysis and import/export of data from web based Retail Management application.
  • Create custom reports and analysis from web based Camp registration application.
  • Create custom reports and analysis from facilities management application.
  • Develop strategies for cross referencing and merging data from various databases.
  • Assist management with the selection, evaluation, and implementation of database management tools and applications.
  • Participate in the resolution of database application issues with vendor support and Council staff teams.
  • Provide advice on, and support, strategies for the distribution of data to members and other constituencies.
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • College degree in computer/information  science or related field preferred.
  • Some experience with database administration, data management or data analysis.
  • Ability to manage and process data in SQL databases.
  • Proficient in core MS Access functions and queries.
  • MS Excel power user.
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports and Business Objects/BI  tools.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
 
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have the ability to travel between, and report to, either of the council’s two administrative offices in Farmingdale and Toms River.
  • Must maintain membership in the Girl Scouts of the USA.
 
COMPENSATION AND OTHER: Starting salary is $30 per hour for approximately 25 hours per week with an annual maximum of 1,200 hours. A flexible work schedule and some work at home is possible. The position does NOT include benefits.
