Electronic Resources Librarian - The Sheldon L. Sirota
Memorial Library
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Administers
the integrated library system
Coordinates and conducts
training with staff and student assistants on new and updated Innovative Interfaces
modules including serials, cataloging, circulation, OP AC and Web Access Management
Works with other Touro
libraries to coordinate INNOP AC (Innovative Interfaces Online Public Access
Catalog) efforts.
Responsible for all
electronic operations functions including registering and activating new electronic titles,
overseeing compliance of license agreements, monitoring changes and renewals in the online
catalog, and Serhold and Summons plus catalog items as required
Communicates successfully with vendors and
publishers
Assists
with the selection of new resources and ongoing review of current electronic
resources
Maintains
accessibility and web maintenance of electronic resources
Provides
reference services using print and electronic resources
Responsible
to the Director of the Library
Participates
in medical student pharmacy student admission interviews
Serves
on committees, as assigned
Participates
in teaching biomedical literature searching
Participates in faculty
functions where faculty attendance is expected such as White Coat Ceremony and new student
orientation
REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Preparation, and Training
MLS/MLIS/MIS degree from an ALA -accredited program.
Second master’s required for faculty rank.
Preferred
Qualifications:

Two years or more experience in a health science
library or academic library.
·
Experience in managing electronic resources.
Skills
Knowledge of library
procedures and electronic biomedical resources
Knowledge of selection, acquisitions, and evaluation of
electronic resources
Knowledge of OCLC and ILS management
Strong customer service skills
Computer Skills
Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and Outlook
Internet
Research, plus library specific software, such as Sierra, DOCLINE, OCLC
Connection, MARCEdit
