Competitive Intel Analyst, Lexis-Nexis – NY
Lexis-Nexis is looking for CI Analyst. This position is
responsible for discovery, consolidation and communication of key
trends, opportunities, threats and implications related to the Research
& Litigation Solutions (RLS) external environment, as well as
providing clear implications and guidance to various sales team members
Responsibilities:
•Effectively communicates what makes RLS and its products unique versus other competitor to sales teams, customers and prospects.
•Work with product marketing team to develop highly differentiated product messaging. Develop competitive performance stories which are fact driven that can be used in both marketing, NPD and sales activities.
•Perform strategic analysis of key value drivers, current market activity, and market scenarios to enable key strategic decisions as well as identify strategic blind spots.
•Provides education and facilitates discussion on market trends and hot topics with marketing, sales and the wider RLS organization, while supporting comprehensive research reviews provided by the larger CDI team.
•Interject competitive information and knowledge into RLS business processes (e.g. customer service, training, back office)
•Actively communicate important competitive information and knowledge, and develops strategic insights for the Board, Senior Executives and Sales Leadership so that the organization can make informed decisions of gaining market share.
•Maintain a high set of competitive intelligence ethical standards, ensuring that all competitive intelligence is gathered from the appropriate sources and employs appropriate collection methodologies.
The Research & Litigations Solutions business of LexisNexis serves the information and workflow needs in the U.S. of professionals in legal, government, corporate and academic markets. Legal and information professionals rely on expansive LexisNexis® content and tools when researching case law, developing a litigation strategy, planning depositions as well as researching companies and individuals and tracking and analyzing news events. Major lines of business include Litigation Solutions, Practice Area Solutions and Business Insight Solutions as well as flagship
Research Solutions.
Qualifications
•Three (3) years’ experience in competitive analysis.
•One to three years’ experience in a legal environment
•Ability to analyze information and synthesize it for broad consumption
•Expert on vendor landscape from both a product and strategy perspective
•Proven track record in crafting compelling positioning and thought leadership content
•Strategic thinking abilities
•Strong business and financial acumen
•Sales-focused (understanding sales objectives and methodology)
•Hands-on experience working closely with sales organization to win deals
•Able to condense complex technical themes into intuitive value propositions
•Technical acumen, ability to command technical content and audiences
•Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with tight deadlines effectively
•Experience building SWOT analysis of competitive offerings, companies, and potential offering from all market sources preferred
•Experience with CI analysis methodologies such as Porter’s 5-forces analysis, MOCA analysis,
Ecosystem assessment preferred
•Superior communication skills; both oral and written, as well as a significant executive level presence
•Proven ability to effectively network and communicate with different types and levels of staff and external contacts, both in writing and verbally
•Effective presentation skills, including the ability to tailor communications to different audiences
•Demonstrated aggressive, persuasive, and creative problem solving skills.
•Proven evidence of working in a matrix environment in a shared service environment
•Ability to build trust broadly across the organization and to manage interactions and influence without authority
•Must be able to build effective inter-company networks which will ensure the flow of competitive information
