Reporting
to the Assistant Director for Major Gift Operations and working closely
with the Manager for Research, the Assistant Manager for Research:
- Prepares detailed reports on prospective donors for use by development office and senior staff
- Identifies potential new prospects for the Library's fundraising efforts
- Participates with staff in planning and executing fundraising strategies
- Manages existing donors and prospects in the development office database; maintains and updates donor files
- Analyzes general, business, and financial news relevant to the Library's fundraising efforts
- Other related duties as needed

- BA required
- 1-2 years of prospect research or related research experience
- Excellent writing, editing, analytical, and communication skills
- Facility
with online research; familiarity with news retrieval tools
(Lexis-Nexis preferred), SEC and financial documentation, and donor
management software
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Interest in current events and news related to business, finance, philanthropy, the arts, education, etc.
