P/T - Medical Librarian - Mt Sinai Elmhurst Queens, NYC

Mount Sinai Elmhurst is looking for a Medical Librarian in the Health Sciences Library Department.

Job Title: Medical Librarian – Part-Time (10 hours per week consisting of one 6-hour shift on Thursday between 11:30 AM – 5:30 PM.  The scheduling of the remaining 4-hour shift is negotiable.)
                                                             
General Summary:

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated librarian to build innovative information services to support a dynamic research medical library. Incumbent will work with the Library Director, Assistant Director, and Coordinating Manager to provide library services to employees, students, and volunteers of the hospital as well as general administrative support.  

Essential duties:
        Answers patrons’ reference questions by finding books and articles on various topics and providing information about the library.
        Teaches hospital employees and students how to use the library on their own in a group setting.  
        Teaches groups of library users about evidence-based medicine.
        Assists in other special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

        Master of Library Science required; work experience in Medical Library preferred
        Superior skill in Microsoft Office suite
        Excellent customer service skills
        It is required that the librarian has experience in PubMed.  It is strongly preferred that the librarian have experience conducting reference interviews and searching Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, CINAHL, Google Scholar, and Google.
