The Center for Jewish History is seeking a Reading Room Coordinator (full-time).
The Center for Jewish History, a research center open to the public, seeks a Reading Room Coordinator to provide public services in its multi-collection Lillian Goldman Reading Room. Responsibilities include: coordinating reference services in a team environment; overseeing usage of library and archival material by the public and facilitating the requisition of said materials; doing secondary reference interviews as necessary; expediting in-house circulation transactions for requested materials; monitoring commensurate photocopy requests; working with the Reference Services team on special projects pertaining to collections access.
Requirements: MLS degree. Ability to work with online catalogs. Ability to work and multi-task in a busy environment, with the public and colleagues. Appropriate demeanor a must. Preference will be given to candidates with history/humanities training; technology experience; and foreign language abilities in one or more of the following languages: German, Yiddish, Russian.
