F/T - TECHNOLOGY COORDINATOR/LIBRARIAN, Oceanside Library (NY)
 

Oceanside Library is in the midst of a major transformation, with a significant expansion in the number and type of programs and services offered to the public.  We are seeking a high-performing, dynamic, enthusiastic, tech-savvy individual to join our team.  This is an exciting opportunity to work full-time with multiple departments and patrons of all ages.

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Planning, scheduling and conducting a variety of programs that include technology training to patrons of all ages and staff on and offsite.
  • Provide assistance to patrons and staff with technology devices: public computers, laptops, Chromebooks, 3D printer, eReaders: Kindles, tablets, etc.
  • Set-up and break down technology and AV equipment.
  • Assist with Library website.
  • Maintain Overdrive Collection (eBooks and eAudiobooks).
  • Assist with maintaining the online museum pass program.
  • Back-up to ALIS Coordinator.
  • Reference Desk duties/Reader’s Advisory/Databases/Collection Development.
  • Outreach and class visits.
  • Prepare monthly statistical reports and promotional/instructional materials.
  • Help supervise volunteers when needed.
 
Minimum qualifications:

  • MLS degree from an ALA accredited college or university.
  • NYS Librarians Certificate.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Strong technology and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of SIERRA, Encore, EventKeeper, Apps and Social Media.
  • Ability to function individually and in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm to work with patrons of all ages.
  • Effective collaboration skills.
 
This is a full-time position that will include evenings and weekends.  Flexibility is a MUST.  Oceanside Library is an Association Library and is not subject to Civil Service requirements. Oceanside Library is a member of the New York State Retirement.  EOE.
