Freelance Position in Electronic Publishing
Digital educational reference publisher seeks smart, web-savvy individual to work on various online educational products, online reference resources, online databases, and eBooks in subjects such as history, geography, literature, science, health, and more.
Responsibilities
Include checking/cleaning up file coding and conversions; preparation of data for ingest and QC of data migrated from various sources into proprietary CMS; standardizing data; indexing content; some QC work on online products; image resizing and basic manipulation, including batch processing; organizing fielded image data; downloading data, formatting and/or standardizing, inputting.
Requirements
Strong liberal arts background, Library Science, Education, English, History, or Science knowledge a plus. Some HTML, strong attention to detail, ability to learn quickly, good digital and editorial skills, and must be organized and able to work efficiently on multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of FileMaker, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, a CMS, XML, Jira, strong Excel skills a plus. Must work in-house during business hours.
