Manager, Scientific Information Training, Bristol-Myers Squibb – NJ

Bristol-Myers Squibb’s information management group is looking for a self-motivated professional with an aptitude for technology and a knack for engaging learners to manage the development and delivery of global training and awareness programs for scientific digital information resources. This position is located in Hopewell, NJ.
Work associated with this role:
  • Helps create a clear vision and strategy to support delivery of training and awareness to global R&D users of Information & Analytics Sciences (IAS) products and services, including electronic books and journals as well as search and discovery tools aimed at this content. Based on business priorities, implements programs and initiatives that meet both short and long-term needs of stakeholders in continuous alignment with both strategy and critical resources.
  • Facilitates the development of client-focused training programs through understanding of information needs of critical user groups. Cultivates strategic partnerships and open communication channels to help align user needs with strategic vision.
  • Develops learning materials, curricula, research guides and targeted courses that meet the business needs of a global user base. Plans, coordinates and assesses IAS learning initiatives in conjunction with product and service vendors. Conducts or coordinates general or subject-specific classes as needed.
  • Provides support for users of scientific search and discovery tools, including PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Reaxys, SciFinder, etc. with strong troubleshooting skills and product-specific knowledgebase.
  • Plans and coordinates marketing events and communications to promote IAS products and services through outreach activities that target key client groups globally.
  • Partners with other information groups both internally and externally to benchmark and establish best practices and standards for learning and development.
  • Integrates current and emerging technologies, as appropriate, in the design and delivery of IAS instruction, outreach and information services.
  • Works with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree required; marketing experience or advanced degree in information management preferred
    • 3-5 years’ experience minimum
    • Demonstrated experience in a science or medical setting providing product or service support, communications, marketing, or training
    • Demonstrated facility with instruction and information technologies, creative use of technology to enhance learning, and developing learning outcomes and employing assessment techniques
    • Well-developed analytical, organizational, management, problem-solving and communication skills
    • Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness and flexibility
    • Self-directed and motivated, with the ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a demanding team environment
    • Strong desire to provide outstanding client support to our global user base
    • Attention to detail coupled with the ability to work under tight deadlines
    • Prior experience with driving strategic initiatives from start to finish
