Researcher, LAC Group – NY

 
LAC Group seeks candidates for an entry-level weekend Researcher position in New York (Manhattan), NY.  This position is scheduled for alternate Sundays at one of its media clients, and may occasionally include additional hours during the week.  The typical schedule is working the hours of 11:00am – 7:00pm on alternative Sundays.

 The ideal candidate is a library school student with a working knowledge of online research databases and a strong interest in news and popular culture.  The Researcher will work alongside an established research team to complete queries using online databases, public records databases, and other specialized internal and external resources.

Qualifications
  • Sound judgment in identifying and using authoritative sources for secondary research
  • Experienced Internet searcher; familiar with multiple browsers and search engines
  • Exposure to standard online research resources such as LexisNexis and Factiva
  • Experience with MS Office applications including Word and Outlook
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to work quickly and independently
  • Coursework towards the Master of Library Science or Information Science degree is strongly preferred.  A Bachelor’s degree is required.
