Union County College is seeking to fill 4 part-time positions for Reference/Instruction Librarian at its Cranford, Elizabeth, and Plainfield campuses

Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities:

Assists patrons in finding information in a variety of formats, either at UCC or elsewhere.
• Instructs individual users in the use of the libraries.
• Works with faculty and the Bibliographic Instruction Librarian to provide instruction to groups and classes, as scheduled.
• Keeps statistics of library services rendered while on duty.
• Assists with special projects and programs as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Libraries or his/her designe(e).

Requirements:

American Library Association accredited MLS.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong reference experience.
• Strong Library instruction and/or teaching experience.

Terms of employment:

Maximum 25 hours per week. Must be able to work at any of all three campus libraries. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.

Tag is hiring for an Digital Asset Manager to manage and catalog digital assets for one of the company’s largest clients.​ The Digital Asset Manager will report to the Account Director and will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating 100,000+​ assets including images, video and sound files based on the client’s specific brand guidelines.​ The Digital Asset Manager position provides an excellent opportunity to gain a solid understanding of the advertising production industry.​

Job duties

· Liaise with the Account Management team and creative agencies to gather all advertisements produced and catalog them into the digital asset management library
· Day to day running and maintenance of digital asset library
· Organize, rename and log all assets according to asset type, brand, and campaign
· Capture metadata against each asset allowing system users to be able to easily locate the asset by keyword
· Work with agency and production contacts to obtain new compaign elements and ensure all required formats are received
· Manage platform testing and feature enhancements using the Jira ticketing system in coordination with the company software department
· Support platform via administration including user access, workflow maintenance, content gating, and phone/​webinar user support
· Update and manage level structure on client’s CMD site
· Upload and organize files to client’s CMD site
· Distribute various files to requesting markets via FTP upon approval from GRM
· Occasionally work with internal and external vendors
· Quarterly Metrics Report
· Run report through client cmd site to obtain monthly data
· Obtain total downloads doc and data to determine total downloads by asset type (Print, TVC, Digital, Misc Elements)
· Work with GRM team to attain Market Usage information and compile with client cmd site data to create final PDF for client
· Link all market adapts to the mobile level of CMD for the Re-Use Ipad App.​


Job Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in related field (technology, multimedia preferred); a combination of education and work experience can be substituted.​
· An understanding of digital files; two years of experience in a digital asset library preferred
· An understanding of the print and/​or digital creative workflow
· Knowledge of various file formats and how/​when they are used
· An understanding of updating HTML links/​tags
· High level of organizational skills and self motivation
· Ability to multi task
· Strong time management skills
· Knowledge of international broadcast formats
· Excellent communication skills; comfortable and confident in corresponding via email and telephone with the client

Research Associate, Food Bank for NYC

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Director of Research and Evaluation, the Research Associate will be primarily responsible for the investigation of issues related to hunger and associated phenomena, which will result in the compilation of Food Bank For New York City’s primary research. This includes report production related to the Hunger Experience series, an annual hunger poll of New York City residents performed in conjunction with the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, and the Agency and Participant Hunger Safety Net Reports. The Research Associate will also support the Senior Director in developing customized reports commissioned internally and externally that advance the strategic interests of the Food Bank.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gather and summarize research data from public databases, publications, etc. to inform primary research and to develop other tools;
  • Produce regular reports for internal and external audiences (e.g. monthly meals report);
  • Respond to internal requests for data;
  • Compile data dashboard;
  • Handle assigned tasks related to annual Marist poll;
  • Administer surveys developed by the Research and Evaluation Department;
  • Maintain and update a database containing frequently used socio-demographic and economic data;
  • Organize and maintain a research reference library (includes periodic literature searches);
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree required in research, public administration, public policy or equivalent;
  • A minimum of two years experience in public policy-related work, preferably in the area of hunger or poverty;
  • Basic statistical knowledge;
  • Experience with the survey process, from conceptualization through administration and analysis;
  • Proficiency in all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and SPSS;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Interest and familiarity with food poverty and nutrition policy preferred;
  • Ideal candidate will be a flexible, organized, deadline-focused reliable team player with a collegial and professional manner and the ability to work under pressure.

JOB SUMMARY:
Assists in the management of a library collection, delivery of its services and programs, and daily maintenance operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

*   Manages a library collection, including selection, organization, preservation, and retention of college-level materials in a variety of fields and formats

UN is seeking a Librarian. This position is located in the Department of Public Information (DPI) in the Outreach Division, at the Dag Hammarskjöld Library. Incumbents report directly to a Unit Coordinator which may be in any area of Library operations.
Responsibilities
The Library has adopted a flexible working organisation and the Librarian may be responsible, within delegated authority, for any of the following duties:
• Selects material for the development of collections; coordinates selections and departmental requests for materials, ensures their accordance with collection development policies.
• Catalogues abstracts and/or indexes complex scientific and technical materials that require in-depth treatment of subject matter or documents of a politically sensitive nature.
• Integrates and balances user and institutional needs, applying extensive experience with the management of commercial sources of information.  Maintains communication with networks in the relevant fields and with associations of library and information specialists.
• Evaluates adequacy of existing reference tools.  Implements new technologies in information management to ensure that new tools developed for efficient access to information are accessible to staff throughout the Organization.
• Advises other units and departments seeking expertise in information architecture, content organization, and metadata, including Internet/Intranet sites.
• Conducts programs of outreach and user education to improve client use of desktop information resources; uses judgment of relevant institutional needs to develop presentations appropriate to client audience; develops marketing and publicity materials to facilitate outreach.

The initial primary focus of the three posts concerned may be (1) coordination of the UNBIS Thesaurus and Library authority files (2) document analysis & metadata (3) coordination of the UN libraries’ electronic resources purchasing consortium. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in library work, information network administration or related area is required. Five years of experience in a role as professional librarian, documentalist, archivist or similar active information service role is desirable.
Experience of working in an international environment is desirable.
