Director Metadata Management, Showtime – NY
Showtime seeks a skilled, innovative, and knowledgeable professional for the position of Director, Metadata Management in the Digital Services Department. This individual will report to the VP, Emerging Technology and Digital Services. The Director, Metadata Management works collaboratively to provide leadership and direction related to metadata, working with a wide range of internal stakeholders and external partners. The Director, Metadata Management will develop and implement metadata standards and a brand style guide to enhance marketing effectiveness and brand consistency across digital Showtime offerings. Responsible for documentation, analysis and ongoing metadata verification activities.
In addition, this role requires an understanding of programming logic, data schemas, excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as knowledge of the digital media landscape, including internet, SEO and metadata technologies.Specific Job Responsibilities will include:
. Developing and implementing SNI metadata standards and a brand style guide to enhance marketing effectiveness and brand consistency
. Monitoring SNI metadata in electronic program guides, apps, websites and other consumer points of discovery and working to ensure company is being well represented
. Documenting SNI internal metadata points of creation, processes, and systems as well as external metadata distribution. Consulting with key stakeholders from Showtime operations, programming, PR, digital services, IT, creative and product management/development groups and establishing recommendations to streamline approach and implement best practices
. Managing ongoing relationships with metadata providers, industry trade associations and third party metadata vendors
. Overseeing Showtime marketing feed partner integration, approvals, and evolution of schema, webpage and process
. Overseeing Showtime EIDR integration and SNI participation in metadata initiatives with CableLabs and other industry associations
Required Qualifications:
To qualify, you should have:
. Degree in Information Science, Library Science, or equivalent experience
. At least 3+ years experience in metadata and digital asset management in entertainment or related industry
. Understanding of media landscape and related technologies, programming logic and database architectures, SEO, as well as metadata management technologies
. Strong knowledge of entertainment metadata schemas, protocols and standards
. Attention to detail; critical thinking skills; interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and collaborate cross functionally with many departments within organization
. Ability translate complex technical concepts into meaningful business communication
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with of Programming of Java, JSON, XML highly preferred.
